Ephesians 6:12, “This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.” (GodsWord)

I particularly love this version of today’s scripture because it speaks loudly to the issue of our ongoing contention with the host of hell and their human agents. It spelt it out loudly that, what you as a child of God is involved in is an ongoing MATCH; it’s not yet over. Which means, you haven’t already been beaten by your enemy, neither are you being beaten right now by your enemy.

Dear friend, the outcome of this match and fight can swing either way; the end result can equally be decided by you. Hallelujah! In the face of the horrendous, energy-sapping and scary contentions of hell against you, you are never HELPLESS. Please, read that again. In the least, you ALWAYS have a 50/50 chance of winning, with the odds always against your enemies. Why? Because, God is always on your side and available to help you. How is that?

Beloved, there’s a very strong assurance in the Bible for you. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says, “we do live in the world, but we do not fight in the same way the world fights. We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” (NCV)

Dear child of God, you need to read this passage of scripture over and over and MEDITATE on the strength and capabilities of the weapons you have been given tonight with. “Our weapons have power from God that can DESTROY the enemy’s strong places. We DESTROY people’s arguments…We CAPTURE every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” With your weapons, the enemy’s bunkers, safe places, refuge or PROTECTION is as safe and strong as butter or snow under the African midday sun.

In fact, your weapons of war have the capabilities to CAPTURE, arrest or hold down even abstract, spiritual, unseen and invisible things like THOUGHTS. Hallelujah! This is why your victory is guaranteed. But this VICTORY depends on you knowing and applying this great knowledge. You need to prosecute an INTELLIGENT warfare by filling yourself up with the correct knowledge of God’s word and promises. So that you can use them to destroy and capture all of satan’s arsenals, no matter how FORMIDABLE they might have been, even against you and yours. And do you remember that Jesus is the word of God? Selah!
