1 Samuel 2:9, “He protects the lives of his faithful people, but the wicked disappear in darkness;
a man does not triumph by his own strength.” (GNT)
The focus of today’s nugget is so apt, like the summary of a very long but interesting story or event. Going through today’s scripture may alarm or raise your dopamine levels. Why? Because, the scripture makes it clear that, victory in this battle is way beyond any human effort of capabilities that you may possess. It says, “a man does not triumph by his own strength.” That means, not your fasting, prayer or carefulness is enough all by themselves. Isn’t that gloomy?
However, fight, you must; it is none negotiable. However, there’s a SILVER LINING. And the bright side is that your quaver or arsenal is full and formidable. And as a genuine believer, your battle against the host of hell may be scary and fierce, but, you’re neither the first to be on that battlefield, neither will you be the last. Also, you can find comfort, strength, motivation and confidence in the fact that, you are never alone. Because, God, who can never become weary or suffer defeat had promised to be with you, even till the very end of the ages. Hallelujah!
Dear friend, please look at the promise in Philippians 2:10. It says, “that in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” (AMPc) This means that, it is not an advice or a DEBATE. But at or in the name of Jesus, every knee or creation MUST bow. Please, read in GNT. It says, “and so, in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees,” Did you just read that? ALL BEINGS in the three realms, heaven, earth and under world or world below, WILL bow in HONOUR of the name JESUS. It’s not because you fasted or shouted, but just because it’s the Lord’s name. Hallelujah!
Beloved, the practical demonstration of the promise in this scripture is most evident in what happened in Jude 1:9, “not even the chief angel Michael did this. In his quarrel with the Devil, when they argued about who would have the body of Moses, Michael did not dare condemn the Devil with insulting words, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (GNT) This means that, to win that battle, angel Michael had to involve the Lord by INVOKING Him. But, who is the Lord? Jesus is Lord! Hallelujah!
Dear friend, I heard a very troubling and sorrowful story years ago about a very brave but ignorant young man. Some armed robbers attacked them at gun point. But this very brave young man suddenly lurched at the gun welding robber and wrestled the gun out of his hands. Fearing for their lives the robbers immediately fled the scene. However, when they hoped to have heard a shot fired and none was fired, they stopped running and raced back. They realized the young man apparently didn’t know how to shoot a gun. The gun was wrestled from him and he was shot. Please, don’t be that IGNORANT. The name of Jesus is a loaded gun in your hand. Please, learn how to FINISH the fight by pulling the trigger. Selah!
